This course exposes civil engineering students to fundamental environmental engineering issues, including water quality, air and noise pollution, wastewater, solid waste management, public health, environmental legislation, and impact assessment. Students will learn to assess environmental problems, propose appropriate pollution-control and waste-management strategies, and evaluate engineering solutions in terms of public health, environmental sustainability, community well-being, and professional responsibilities.
