This course has been designed to illustrate the advanced use of process simulation as a tool for the analysis of chemical processes. The course is a mix of self-study, team-based activities and projects with the main objective is to design sustainable, green and energy-efficient complex chemical processes using a commercial process simulator, Aspen HYSYS. Several real-industrial problems will be used as team-based projects where each team will systematically design the simulation solutions of those projects in achieving several design objectives. Step-by-step tasks need to be completed in satisfying design requirements. This course implements active learning, cooperative learning as well as blended learning in all teaching and learning activities.
