Module Synopsis

This module explores the patterns of infectious and nutrient-related diseases in Malaysia and the public health strategies used to prevent and control them. Students will learn to analyse and interpret health indicators, including morbidity and mortality data, to support public health decision-making. The module covers the principles of disease prevention, common nutrient deficiency disorders, and the role of health promotion, early intervention, and national nutrition programmes in improving population health.
