Welcome to the MM10102: Basic Clinical Skills and First Aid module. Competence in clinical skills is a major component of excellence in medical practice. This course is designed to inculcate a sense of moral and intellectual integrity while teaching you the practical skills necessary for your future careers.
Throughout this module, you will master vital foundational techniques. Key topics include:

Developing communication skills, including history taking, counseling, and interpreting body language.

Measuring vital signs like body temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, alongside anthropometric measurements like BMI.

Conducting systematic examinations, including the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems, as well as the eyes and ears.

Performing and interpreting Electrocardiograms (ECG), alongside procedures like venipuncture and rapid diagnostic tests.

Administering First Aid, managing patient transport, and providing Basic Life Support (BLS).
Beyond the classroom, we will coordinate visits to local healthcare facilities, allowing you to observe these services and interact directly with health care providers.
