LEE KUOK TIUNG

Assoc. Prof. Datuk Dr. Lee Kuok Tiung is an Associate Professor in the Communication Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). He holds a PhD in Journalism and Publishing from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), with scholarly expertise centering on political communication, news framing, media ethics, digital media literacy, and emerging information technologies. A prolific researcher and prominent public intellectual, his published work spans peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and research monographs examining electoral dynamics, misinformation, and audience behavior under the Uses and Gratifications framework. Alongside his extensive academic leadership—including his past tenure as Head of the Communication Program—he is a widely cited political commentator across Malaysian broadcast and print media and serves as Deputy Commandant (Lieutenant Colonel) of the UMS Reserve Officers Training Unit (ROTU/PALAPES).
