This course introduces basic Spanish language skills to students with no prior knowledge of the target language. It is designed to develop students’ foundational communicative competence in Spanish through the integration of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will acquire basic knowledge of Spanish pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, and grammatical structures and apply this knowledge in simple oral and written communication in everyday contexts. The course employs a variety of language learning activities to facilitate the practical use of the target language and encourage active student participation. Students’ achievement is assessed through quizzes, video-based assessments, a mid-semester test, an oral assessment, and a final examination.
