Dear students,
A big welcome to BH 6013: HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT (SEMESTER 1, 2026/2027). I am excited that we could all acquire and apply the knowledge of human capital and human resources management in managing global with generational differences workforce.
This subject provides students with foundational knowledge and understanding of Human Capital Management (HCM). HCM is grounded in principles and practices designed to enhance employees’ motivation, productivity and overall performance within organisations. The HCM approach emphasises the importance of identifying innovative ways of working, recognising the central role of managers in driving organisational change and valuing employees as individuals rather than merely as part of a collective workforce. In addition, the subject exposes students to key functional strategies in human resource management, including employee selection and recruitment, training and development, performance management, compensation practices and managing global human resources.
