This course provides students with an understanding of the principles and practices of plant propagation, covering sexual propagation through seeds, asexual propagation using vegetative parts, and in vitro micropropagation. Students will develop practical skills in seed quality assessment, explant inoculation, and vegetative techniques such as cutting, grafting, budding, and layering, while adhering to industry standards. The course also addresses nursery establishment, maintenance, and management practices to ensure effective and sustainable plant production. By the end of the course, students are expected to explain propagation principles, demonstrate propagation and nursery techniques, and perform practical tasks accurately and safely, preparing them for professional roles in horticulture and plant production.
