This course introduces the fundamental concepts and practical applications of embedded systems using the PIC16F887 microcontroller. It covers microcontroller architecture, I/O port interfacing, sensors and actuators, analogue-to-digital conversion, timers, interrupts, serial communication, and Embedded C programming. Students will develop skills in hardware interfacing, program analysis, troubleshooting, and system integration through laboratory activities. The course also involves the design and development of a PIC16F887-based embedded system prototype to address a specified engineering problem, considering system safety, resource efficiency, and environmental requirements.
