This module will expose students to real-world cybersecurity challenges faced by organizations in Malaysia and the world. They may apply the knowledge and skills acquired in other modules to address these challenges effectively. The module will analyze these challenges from the perspective of potential attackers (how systems are vulnerable to exploitation) and defenders (how to safeguard systems and respond to threats). Students will delve into the common attack and defence strategies applicable to various aspects of cybersecurity in the Malaysian context. This includes software, web applications, networks, operating systems, cryptographic systems, and human factors. The course strongly emphasises practical, hands-on activities, encouraging students to actively participate in public and industry-specific cybersecurity challenges relevant to Malaysia's evolving cyber landscape.
