iTEL Microlearning: General Functions

Login

The login function allows users to securely authenticate and access the iTEL platform.

The login function may be used:

• To access the system using your official university credentials.

• To view your customized dashboard, recent courses, and upcoming deadlines.

Course Enrollment

The enrollment function controls how users gain access to a specific course on the iTEL platform. This process is configured differently based on your role.

Course enrollment is used:

• For Students (Self Enrollment): To independently join a course by searching for it and entering a specific enrollment key provided by the lecturer.

• For Teachers (Admin Enrollment): To gain access to assigned courses for teaching and grading, which is managed and enrolled centrally by the System Administrator.

Course Backup

The course backup function allows educators to create and save a compressed copy of their course structure, activities, and resources into a single file.

The backup function may be used:

• To create a safe, offline archive of your course materials at the end of an academic session.

• To prepare a clean master copy of your course (by excluding student data such as grades and forum posts) for future reuse.

Course Restore

The course restore function enables educators to upload a previously saved backup file to populate a new course shell or add content to an existing course.

The restore function may be used:

• To easily transfer learning materials, quizzes, and resources from a previous semester into a new semester's course.

• To share a standardized course layout and activities with co-lecturers teaching different sections of the same subject.
