The assignment activity module enables a teacher to communicate tasks, collect work and provide grades and feedback.

Choice

The choice activity enables a teacher to ask a single question and offer a selection of possible responses. Results can be published to students anonymously or with names, either immediately or after a set date.

A choice activity may be used:

• As a quick poll to stimulate thinking or test students' understanding.

• To facilitate student decision-making (e.g., voting on a project topic or course direction).

Database

The database activity enables participants to build, display, and search a customized bank of entries (such as text, images, or files). It supports comments, peer evaluation, and graded submissions.

A database may be used:

• To build a collaborative collection of resources (e.g., web links, book reviews, or journal references).

• To showcase student work (e.g., photos, posters, or poems) for peer review and feedback.

Feedback

The feedback activity enables a teacher to create custom surveys using various question types (e.g., multiple choice, text input). Responses can be kept anonymous, and results can be restricted to teachers or shared with everyone.

A feedback activity may be used:

• For course evaluations to gather student feedback and improve future content.

• To enable students to sign up for course modules or events.

• For anonymous surveys where students can safely report incidents or share honest opinions.

Forum

The forum activity enables participants to hold asynchronous (non-real-time) discussions over an extended period. It supports various formats (like Q&A or single-post), file attachments, subscription notifications, and grading through teacher or peer ratings.

A forum may be used:

• For course announcements (using forced subscription) or as a social space for students to connect.

• To discuss course content, reading materials, or continue conversations from a face-to-face class.

• As a help center for peer advice or a private 1-on-1 support area between a student and teacher.

Glossary

The glossary activity enables participants to build and search a collaborative list of definitions or resources, much like a dictionary. It supports file attachments, entry approvals, comments, and grading through peer or teacher ratings.

A glossary may be used:

• As a collaborative bank of key terms or a revision resource of facts.

• As a "getting to know you" space where new students add their personal details.

• As a sharing area for useful tips, videos, images, or best practices.

H5P 

The H5P (HTML5 Package) activity enables you to upload and add rich, interactive HTML5 content directly to your course, including presentations, videos, quizzes, and games.

H5P may be used:

• To create interactive videos or presentations with embedded questions.

• To build engaging multimedia learning materials like flashcards or memory games.

• To quickly test students' knowledge using visual and gamified elements.

Quiz

The quiz activity enables a teacher to create tests with various question types (e.g., multiple choice, numerical). It supports time limits, multiple attempts, and automatic grading (except essays) with customizable feedback.

Wiki

The wiki activity enables participants to add and edit a collection of web pages, either collaboratively or individually. It keeps a complete history of previous versions and tracks edits made by each user.

A wiki may be used:

Workshop

A workshop may be used:
