This course intends to expose students with the principles, concepts and techniques in investment. Among the topics covered are investment settings, securities market and investment instruments, unit trusts, portfolio theory particularly the risk-return relationships and market equilibrium models, efficient market theory, fixed income securities, security analysis, derivative markets and portfolio management. Focuses will be given on the Malaysian equity market.

This course intends to expose students with the concept and technique of personal financial planning. The ever changing economic and financial conditions, both at individual and country levels, have made financial planning even more challenging hence, making it necessary for students to know how to manage their finance properly. This course will cover topics such as the foundations in financial planning, the time value of money, the management of basic assets, credits, insurance and investments as well as retirement planning. Upon completing this course, students are expected to have vast knowledge on personal financial planning and able to manage their personal finance properly.
