This course is the study of the application of ergonomics in relation to work. The emphasis is on the interrelation of ergonomics with various disciplines such as psychology, physiology and human-computer interaction (HCI). Basically, the students will introduced about the concepts of ergonomics, methods in ergonomics research and system ergonomics. Specific topics will include the application of work physiology, anthropometric at the workplace, physical ergonomics, display and control ergonomics, and human error.
This course is designed to prepare students with knowledge related to consumerism and marketing. It will discuss current issues in consumerism and marketing as well as train students to be skilled in relevant skills.
This course is designed to expose the students to psychological issues in the field of industrial and organizational psychology. The ‘why’ and ‘how’ the issue exists as well as the related theories and the impact of the issues will be discussed in-depth through seminars or workshops to be organised by students.
This course offers students the aspect of safety and health in the workplace. This course will specifically introduce topics that include the causative factors of workplace accidents, the basic elements in safety management, identification and addressing hazards and risks at the workplace; health issues and management of health at the workplace, the importance of occupational health and safety Act (OSHA Act 1994). Students will have the opportunity to practice and apply the theoretical knowledge they have learned in lectures and tutorials (discussion) in analyzing workplace hazards recommending proper solutions and mitigating workplace hazards. With this knowledge, students can identify and propose strategies for dealing with workplace issues.
