This course provides
an essential understanding on the fundamental concepts of Pharmacology
including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug metabolism, drug
interactions, and adverse drug reactions. Students will be exposed to different
topics such as routes of drug administrations, drug and dosage calculations,
interactions between food/nutrients and drugs and the use of drugs in the
treatment of common non-communicable diseases.
"This course is about assessment of the nutritional status of individuals and groups of individuals using established methods of nutritional assessment (i.e: anthropometry, biochemistry, clinical and dietary methods) and physical activity assessments, of which crucial in identifying nutritional problems in individuals/population. This course is part of the body of knowledge for nutritionists."
This course is offered to students from UMS and IPB University who registered for the Nutritional Anthropology from February to July 2024.
This course covers principles and issues related to nutrition and immunology, the impact of nutrients and nutritional status on immune responses as well as the impact of disease states on nutritional status.
“This course will emphasise nutrient metabolism and biochemical pathways for both conditions; normal and disease states, and also will focus on nutritional disorders related to macro-and micronutrients towards non-communicable diseases. Thus, this course will enable students to understand the objective, scope and principles of biochemistry concerning human nutrition and the biological processes and systems applicable to nutrition.”
