An industry-driven subject that will be taught in English and Malay by a lecturer with a vast corporate experience especially in Human Resources Management (HRM). This subject is intrinsically related with the HR department whereby they are entrusted by the Management to come up with a fair and inclusive compensation and reward to their employees.
This subject will focus on the theoretical aspects of how an organisation devises its compensation structures to retain current employees and attract applicants to join them whilst maintaining a positive cashflow throughout the year. On top of that, this subject will be looking into direct and indirect compensation structure and how these two play a crucial role in motivating the employees to strive to excel
This course will examine the global and local labour landscape, exploring the impact of education and labour market demand, knowledge and skills for the 4.0 industrial revolution, social security and labour protection, labour migration, disabled workers and return to work unemployment, employability and the gig economy, labour markets and the COVID-19 pandemic, the aging workforce, and gender in the workplace. Students will engage in discussions and reflections on these topics to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and complexities of the modern labour market. The course will provide critical thinking skills and the knowledge necessary to navigate the ever-evolving global labour landscape.
